On March 28, 2024, NCR Voyix CEO David Wilkinson announced an update to a five-day in-person workstyle with 40 flexible remote days starting in Atlanta at the Global Headquarters.
Why we made this decision
We are at a pivotal point as a new company that requires a different way of working. At the same time, we are actively creating our own culture at NCR Voyix and we’ve seen we are best when we are together. The executive leadership team already models this workstyle and works in person five days a week.
This workstyle allows employees to closely work in person with teams while making the choice of how employees use flexibility to work from home based on their life circumstances.
What principles guided us
It was important for the executive leadership and multiple leaders across the organization to have a clear set of principles to guide our growth as a new company. We looked at our company values and agreed on these principles for this update:
- One Team. Ensure we are working together efficiently and collaboratively as one team.
- Customer Driven. We serve face-to-face industries that provide nonstop services to global populations.
- Drive Innovation. Put flexibility in the hands of our employees to decide when and how they use their flexibility while serving our customers’ needs.
- Be transparent. As a new company, we are building a culture together and need to be together to do that.
What happens next
On May 6, 2024, NCR Voyix will launch a Global Phased Rollout of a five-day-a-week in-person workstyle. Starting in Atlanta at GHQ and the Global offices will be phased in based on location and role.
We believe in flexibility, and we understand our employees have a life outside the office. NCR Voyix is providing a solution of 40 flexible days for employees to work anywhere pending their manager’s approval.
This email was sent to all NCR Voyix employees on March 28, 2024.
NCR Voyix team,
In October 2023, we came together as a new team and launched NCR Voyix. This is a pivotal time for us as a new company, and I believe we work better when we are together. It enables us to collaborate, solve problems, and meet our customers’ needs. As we build our new culture at NCR Voyix, we also believe that flexibility and choice allow us to work more efficiently. The plan is to evolve our current hybrid workstyle.
Starting Monday, May 6, we will move to a new five-day, in-person workweek structure to create more opportunities for teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
I know this is a significant change to our current approach as a company. Many of you have expressed concerns about childcare, family, travel to the office and time priorities – I hear you.
Every team member will have 40 flexible days per year to work from anywhere (pro-rated to 26 days in 2024). This change continues the necessity of working closely in person with your teams while providing the opportunity to decide when you work remotely based on your own life circumstances.
We plan to roll out this policy globally by location and role based on country regulations and laws, and physical space. For our overseas offices, we will send additional site communication when it’s ready. Details of the phased rollout are in the FAQs and your manager can work with you to plan your schedule.
My goal is to make in-person team collaboration a priority so our daily innovation, strategy, and execution are the best they can be for our customers and each other. As we build a new culture and drive toward our goals, it’s essential that we act with urgency and accountability.
I believe this workstyle change will put you in the driver’s seat to decide your own flexibility as we continue our company’s financial growth and build stronger relationships with our customers.
Thank you,
David
